WELCOME TO THE PARISH CHURCH OF
SAINT EDWARD THE CONFESSOR
Church of England - Diocese of Chichester
Building a community of God’s people in the power of the Holy Spirit. Our vision is to build a community under God in all that we do so as to fulfil Christ's mission in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, Burgess Hill (Diocese of Chichester) is a modern church situated on the corner of West Street and Royal George Road in the town of Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
St. Edward the Confessor, Burgess Hill is a very warm and welcoming church that is seeking ways to engage with the parish community around us and where each person is valued and encouraged.
St Edward's has Anglo Catholic roots alongside a Renewed Charismatic heritage. This is reflected in our worship which has an Evangelical/Charismatic flavour alongside its Anglo Catholic tradition. Worshipping at St. Edward's is a unique experience which confirms that different traditions could be mixed rather than separated when we worship God.
In fact, we are a Church Family that is a real mixture of people from all sorts of traditions and backgrounds, but with the Eucharist - The Mass - at the very centre and heart of our worship.
We are committed to building a mission community shaped by God's Word and His Holy Spirit, equipped to bear witness to Christ in a needy world. We aim to promote and develop prayer as the priority and key to renewal and spiritual growth.
Our services are friendly and informal, spiritual and contemplative, as we seek to "Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."
If you live in Burgess Hill or are just visiting the area, you are very welcome to join us at any of our services or events.
We utterly believe that Jesus Christ is the only answer to every human dilemma and question. We want to fix our gaze on Jesus as we try to spread His 'Good News' in our community. We want to live by faith, hope and love, knowing that "If we take our delight in the Lord, he will grant us all the desires of our hearts" (Psalm 37:4)
